Unplug the RefrigeratorAlways disconnect power before starting to avoid electric shock. 2. Access the Evaporator AreaRemove the freezer shelves and ice bin if present.Take off the back panel inside the freezer (held by screws) to expose the evaporator coil and wiring harness.3. Locate the Defrost ThermostatFind the round thermostat clipped to the evaporator coil tubing. It will be connected to the defrost heater wiring with two wires.4. Disconnect the Old ThermostatCut or unplug the wires connected to the old thermostat. Note the wire colors and connections so the new part can be installed the same way.5. Remove the Old ThermostatGently unclip the thermostat from the evaporator tubing. If stuck, carefully pry it loose without damaging the coil.6. Install the New ThermostatClip the new thermostat on to the same evaporator tubing in the same position as the original.
